California Democratic Party Says "Yes" to Wall Street, "No" To Criminal Justice, "No" to the Constitution AND "NOT REALLY" TO DIVERSITY

August, 2019. Sacramento. The California Democratic Party has announced its official list of committee members and not one criminal defense, Constitutional law or civil rights attorney was on the list. Reportedly many applied and were shafted by the party. Those previously sitting on committees were removed. The decision was not democratic. The selection was by mandate from the top.
The CDP committees regularly includes Wall Street lackeys on its Resolutions, Legislation and Platform committees. The clear exclusion of criminal defense, civil rights and Constitutional litigation attorneys from these committees sends a clear signal that Rusty Hicks does not approve of party support for civil rights, the rights of the accused or inconvenient Constitutional protections.
Before the surprise death of former Resolutions Committee chairwoman and civil rights activist Inola Henry, the CDP Resolutions Committee regularly pushed pro-criminal-defense resolutions forward to be adopted unanimously on the floor. This support for the oppressed ended with her death. After Inola’s passing, the Resolutions Committee was taken over by corporate lobbyists who tended to be anti-defense, pro-nuclear, pro-war and pro-Wall Street. The new committee membership frustrated the progressive left. However, never before 2019 was the discriminatory elimination of elected delegates identified as strong progressives and delegates from the criminal defense bar from CDP committees ever so extreme as with the appointment lists that came out on August 1st, 2019.
Currently CDP insiders are backing former California Attorney General Kamala Harris, who has a history of locking up marijuana users and then laughing about her own use of marijuana, of withholding access to evidence of innocence from more than one wrongfully-convicted death row inmate, of actively prosecuting female victims of violence she knew to be innocent and of extending prison terms to use the inmates for slave labor. This may have a tie-in to Rusty's discrimination against elected delegates who have a more progressive point of view.
Hawaii Congresswoman , peace candidate and civil rights activist Tulsi Gabbard took on the alleged prosecutorial misconduct of former California Attorney General Kamala Harris in the July 31st debate. In retaliation, the day after the debate, the CDP deselected any active Gabbard supporters from standing committees, showing the state party’s clear pro-prosecution bent. There is no other way to interpret both the sudden removal of qualified Gabbard supporters from committees they had been sitting on and the complete exclusion of Gabbard supporters from new committee appointments. Anyone want to guess who Rusty is opposing for President or which Constitutional rights he opposes?
Rusty Hicks and the California Democratic Party have a lot to answer for, both to the families of innocent convicts and to supporters of the U.S. Constitution. Congresswoman Gabbard, like many oppressed in an unjust criminal justice system, is a woman of color. In her support of justice and peace, Gabbard has the backing of the U.S. Military and of veterans. Last June, Gabbard was asked to address the CDP Veterans Caucus and received almost non-stop applause and a standing ovation. This coincides with the refusal of the Democratic Party to honor 22 of the national polls showing Gabbard has above the required polling percentage to be in the September debates. The party has limited the number of approved polls that have taken place since the second debate in a seeming attempt to keep progressives such as Gabbard from bringing up such progressive issues as peace and criminal justice reform in the third debate. Note, according to Google searches, Gabbard won the first two debates by a landslide and has well over the required number of individual contributions to be in the debate. Though Mike Gravel met the debate requirement for the second debate, the DNC refused to allow him to take his earned place on the stage. He has since endorsed Congresswoman Gabbard.
The party has falsely touted its committee appointments as diverse but a check of prior appointments establishes that these new appointments are the least diverse in recent history. Rusty’s combining of categories and the trick of having single individuals each be used to claim inclusion within multiple categories shows anything but diversity. The use of a questionnaire demanding applicants list their sexual orientation and Rusty’s exclusion from committees of those who refused to state their sexual orientation, itself, constituted a form of sexual harassment and sexual discrimination to an unprecedented extent. This form of discrimination makes people wonder whether the accusations against Eric Bauman, the prior openly homosexual chairman, were themselves a matter of sexual harassment and discrimination orchestrated to help the party turn away from real equal rights. Bauman always worked to ensure diversity and showed consideration for supporters of all candidates in committee placements. The seemingly official misconduct towards those refusing to answer the sexual orientation question fits with the exclusion from committee appointments of proponents of Gabbard, the Presidential candidate with a 100% pro-LGBQ record.
Rusty Hicks is very white with no history of being part of any oppressed group. These kinds of shenanigans are not sitting well with the pubic and could cost the Democratic Party the Presidency in 2020.
